Haskell’s House

Haskell’s House is a charming old house in older neighborhood, near all amenities, not too far from the beach and a very short ride from the Ft. Lauderdale airport. We are a self-catering accommodation.

The house is within minutes’ walk of downtown Ft. Lauderdale and a supermarket, restaurants, bars, performing arts center, library, coffee shop, museums, parks, and tennis. We have a bike available to borrow and there’s a nearby weekend shuttle to the beach (or bike/drive 15-20 minutes). Off-street parking is provided.

Haskell’s House is for vegetarians only. No flesh or flesh-byproducts are allowed on our premises. The house is surrounded by nature-friendly landscaping and greenery, with a private, enclosed back yard. There are books, magazines, and games. There is no television, and we encourage you to enjoy nature outside our doors. Haskell’s House does not allow smoking on the property.

The rooms

Each of the two-bedrooms in the house may be available for rent. Each has a double bed; one has a separate entrance, and bathrooms are not shared. We have antique furniture and a restful decor. There are DSL outlets in each bedroom as well as in the living and dining rooms. We do not provide or allow a wi-fi router because of electro-sensitivity.
The house is “green” in that paint and other materials used by us to restore it are almost exclusively low voc and cleaning is done with natural, biodegradable products. We do not use pesticides. Our linens are made of natural materials. Recycling, reusing, composting, and energy conservation are required.

We have a well-equipped kitchen with large refrigerator, Vita-mix, Champion juicer, Excalibur dehydrator, food-processor, utensils, and pots and pans, There is no microwave or dishwasher. There is a clothes washer and a dryer on site.

The price is $1300 per month
