SEENSWERT - Vegane Pension und Ferienwohnungen am Ammersee

Our Pension Seenswert is a vegan guesthouse with holiday flats in the middle of picture-book Upper Bavaria. We serve a daily vegan a la carte breakfast that really leaves nothing to be desired. Even non-vegans give these dishes top marks and vegans say they feel like they are in 7th heaven.

Our rooms and flats are all furnished with care in terms of sustainability and charm. Of course, we also pay attention to animal-free products. We have a total of 4 double rooms and 3 holiday flats. The double rooms can also be booked as single rooms at a reduced rate. The flats always consist of 2 rooms, plus kitchen and bathroom. In the respective living rooms, the sofa beds provide sleeping accommodation for 1-2 more people.

We run the house as a couple and hospitality is something we put our heart and soul into. We are always there, from the moment you arrive to the moment you say goodbye. After more than two years, we already have many guests who keep coming back and who stay in close contact with us even after they have left. It feels like the guests who come to us are the ones who really suit us. That is wonderful.

As we have several animals in our family, pets of all kinds are very welcome and don’t cost extra, as is usual everywhere else :-)

The house is centrally located in the village centre, directly on the village stream, surrounded by old farmhouses, the village church and the pub on the square. The High Castle towers high above, right next to the golf course, nestled in a marvellous and mighty oak forest. The former farmhouse was first mentioned around 1634. It fell victim to a fire at least once and was rebuilt. When we found it, it was completely derelict and for sale as a condemned house. We were the only interested parties who were in favour of renovating it and so, after many detours, it became our property in 2021. Narrow stairs, crooked walls, old wooden floors – of course we kept all of that. But the rest was refurbished and renovated from top to bottom.

Between Ammersee and Starnberger See – central in Upper Bavaria

From the small village of Pähl, our guests can reach pretty much everything that makes for a successful holiday in Upper Bavaria. Lake Ammersee on the doorstep, Lake Starnberg just a stone’s throw away, the foothills of the Alps in no time, the mountains for hiking and skiing in less than an hour and the Bavarian capital of Munich even by public transport, well almost. We live here in a very vegan-friendly region and vegan dining is very possible. We are happy to provide our guests with our own recommendations.
